Around thirty years ago, Cuz and Jimmy Wolf mugged some little guy in the men’s room of the Astor Bar. Cuz demanded that the victim hand over his money. Even though the sorry soul did as told, Wolf socked him in the jaw anyway. Cuz gave Wolf a shove.
“What’d you go an’ do that for? He wasn’t givin’ us no hard time!”
Some months later Cuz was arrested (again) for something else. As he was being led into the local lockup, he was very disappointed to learn that the little guy from the Astor was a guard at the jail. Luckily for Cuz, the man didn’t hold a grudge. He actually appreciated that Cuz had stopped Wolf’s assault. The guard got Cuz as best a cell and a job as could be hoped for under the circumstances.
